Union Commonwealth University officials have announced that they’re offering free tuition to any full-time employee seeking to earn an undergraduate or graduate degree. UCU President Dr. DJ Washington said the university already had a pre-existing policy, but it covered fewer credit hours and required a year of employment prior to eligibility. Now, with the new updates, the policy has expanded to staff with at least six months of employment. Washington says offering this free opportunity to provide resources for their staff is a way of giving back to those who give so much. After the recent name change of the school, President Washington wants to remind the bulldog family that Union College will always be a part of who they are. It is Washington’s third week as Interim President. He is a previous Union board member and former Bulldog athlete. He said it is great to be back home and have opportunities to work with Union staff.
