Union College Officially Changes Their Name to Union Commonwealth University

Union College administrators have announced the institution will be undergoing a name change. The Council on Postsecondary Education approved the college to become “Union Commonwealth University.” Union President Dr. Marcia Hawkins said of all the names suggested, Union Commonwealth University stood out as accurately defining their mission. She said the new name identifies Union as a “regional institution with a global reach.” Administrators said the new name is officially in effect. They said a timeline for larger changes will be announced in the coming months.
