Three People Charged With Attempted Murder in Somerset

Police in Somerset say a woman was shot and three people are now in jail after a violent incident. Officers say a woman was driving on Stewart’s Lane near Kentucky 192 early Monday morning when someone in another car fired shots hitting her in the shoulder and puncturing a lung. Police charged Brayln Greer, Christian Helton and Asa Simpson with attempted murder. These men were found in the car where the shots were fired from. One of the men, Asa Simpson, told police he was trying to locate a stolen car. According to a three-page arrest citation, all three suspects are denying they were the ones that fired the shots. Police say the victim was taken to Cumberland Regional Hospital and then to UK for treatment. The investigation is continuing.
