Sen. McConnell Announces Funding to Combat Opioid Abuse

U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will distribute over 1.9 million to three Kentucky organizations through the Rural Communities Opioid Response Program (RCORP). Of those organizations, Baptist Health Foundation in Corbin will receive $750,000 and Memorial Hospital Inc. of Manchester will receive $500,000. Senator McConnell said the substance abuse epidemic has hollowed out communities across the nation, especially here in the Commonwealth. He said now more than ever it’s important that we utilize every tool we have to combat this crisis and save lives.
