Longtime Local Lawmaker, Charles Siler, Dies

A longtime lawmaker from Williamsburg has died. 94-year-old Charles Siler represented the 84th District of Whitley and Laurel counties in the Kentucky House for around 20 years. The Republican served in the House from 1985 to 1990 and from 1995 to 2011. Siler was also a decorated U.S. Army Lt. Colonel. Visitation is scheduled for Saturday from 1 p.m. until the funeral at 3 p.m. at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Moses Addition of Pleasant View Cemetery.
