Laurel County Sheriff John Root says K-9/shift Sgt. Gary Mehler was dispatched to a suspicious person’s complaint on Oneal Road. The homeowner said a stranger was on her front porch and appeared to be intoxicated. Deputy Mehler arrived to find 47-year-old Jason Bruner, of London, who said he was going deer hunting. Bruner had brought a rifle onto the property. Bruner was arrested and charged with possession of a gun by a convicted felon and public intoxication. Bruner was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
