Laurel County Sheriff John Root and London Police Chief Chuck Johnson report officers were called out to a domestic disturbance at a home on River Road. Police encountered James Reed, who slammed the door of the home before they could check on the welfare of a woman inside. After several attempts to make contact, the Southeast Regional Special Response Team was called in. A search and arrest warrant was completed for Reed and then executed by SRT officers. The woman was found and removed from the home unharmed. Reed was taken into custody and charged with unlawful imprisonment. He was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
