Laurel County Sheriff John Root says this year’s Operation Polar Express toy drive giveaway will be held Friday, December 22nd, from noon to 4 p.m. A collection box has been set up at the sheriff’s office this month. They will continue to receive donations through 4 p.m. Friday. Deputy Allen Turner is coordinating the program. He says a gift bag with a gift inside is a good and quick way to help them collect gifts for children who may not have anything for Christmas. Sheriff Root thanks everyone who has donated or that will donate to this worthwhile project.
