During their weekly update on Kool Gold’s London News Now, the Laurel County Health Department report COVID numbers are moderate and flu numbers continue to rise. Public Services Supervisor, Tyler Caldwell, said from November 27th to December 1st there were 130 new cases and 1 new hospitalization. Caldwell says flu cases also continue to rise as we hit the peak of flu season. He also said this is national influenza vaccination week, so it’s not too late to get the vaccine. Caldwell said other than the vaccine, it’s important to practice preventive measures like washing your hands, covering your coughs and sneezes and staying home when you’re sick.
