Laurel County Drug Task Force Arrest Pair with 611 Grams of Meth

Laurel County Sheriff John Root, London Police Chief Chuck Johnson and Knox County Sheriff Mike Smith report the Laurel County Drug Interdiction Task Force arrested two people on drug trafficking charges. Officers received information that a woman had arranged to purchase over a pound of meth. 44-year-old Merinda Robinson, of Manchester, and 39-year-old Joshua Wilson, of London, stopped on the I-75 exit 41 ramp in separate vehicles. Officers arrived and during the investigation a K-9 alerted on one of the vehicles resulting in the discovery of approximately 611 grams of meth, 60 grams of marijuana and a handgun. Wilson told investigators that Robinson had asked him to travel to Lexington and pick up meth she had purchased and drive it back to London. Both were arrested and lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
