Knox County Sheriff Mike Smith announced nine people were arrested after an undercover drug investigation. Smith said several departments joined them, including Laurel County Sheriff’s Department and DEA agents, to make the arrests and get illegal drugs off of Knox County streets. Those arrested were:
19-year-old Jaysa Engle was arrested on Coal Port Road and charged with drug trafficking. Deputies said she was found with two plastic bags and a pill bottle with suspected meth.
34-year-old Joseph W. Holt was arrested on Coal Port Road and charged with three counts of drug trafficking. During the arrest, officials said they found two clear plastic bags and a pill bottle with suspected meth.
36-year-old Jamesmax R. Herren was arrested on Old Lynn Camp School Road and charged with drug trafficking.
41-year-old Charles Fields was arrested at a home on an active warrant. Eric Wilson, 41, was also arrested at the home on an active warrant.
41-year-old Josh Messer was arrested on Pitzer Street and charged with drug trafficking.
28-year-old Larry Tyler Hammons was arrested on KY-2418 and charged with drug trafficking, drug possession and marijuana possession.
25-year-old Jamerson Cannon was also arrested on KY-2418 and charged with drug trafficking, drug possession and marijuana possession.
24-year-old Tyler Ross was arrested on KY-2418 and charged with drug trafficking, drug possession and marijuana possession.
Police said, between Hammons, Cannon and Ross, they found approximately one pound of suspected meth and approximately three ounces of marijuana. All nine were lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
