Laurel County Sheriff John Root says an East Bernstadt man is dead after being hit by a car on KY-490 five miles north of London on Monday night. Deputy Brad Mink along with London Police Lt. Ryan Jackson of the London-Laurel County Crash Reconstruction team says a pedestrian, 57-year-old George Lewis, reportedly entered the roadway into the path of a northbound Honda Accord. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. The investigation is continuing.
