Death Investigation Underway in Clay County After Remains of Missing Woman Identified

Kentucky State Police say the remains of a missing person in Clay County has been identified. 30-year-old Angela “Toot Toot” Smith, of Big Creek, was reported missing by family members. The remains were found in March of 2021 in the Daniel Boone National Forest in Big Creek.  After exhaustive testing the remains were positively identified as those of Smith.  Foul play is suspected at this time and this investigation is ongoing by Detective Logan Gay.
