Yesterday marked the beginning of the second season of harness horse racing at the Cumberland Run race track. Hundreds came to watch some of the best trainers and riders in the world compete and entertain. The Cumberland Run harness track is one of three harness tracks in Kentucky. The track is the newest facility in the state, and trainer Tony Alagna, who has trained horses that have competed at some of the largest races in the world, said the Cumberland Run track stands out from the rest. Vice President of Operations John Vidmar said the goal was to bring quality entertainment to the people of Eastern Kentucky. Races start at 1 P.M. and will be Sunday through Tuesday for the next four weeks.
