Gov. Beshear and Kentucky State Police Honors Troopers and Officers at Annual Award Ceremony                      

The Kentucky State Police honored 55 troopers and officers who are dedicated to protecting Kentucky’s 120 counties during the 2023 Sworn Awards. The awards were for heroic acts of service that occurred in 2023. During the ceremony, KSP Commissioner Phillip Burnett Jr. commended the agency’s troopers and officers for going above and beyond.

Those honors included a detective and two troopers from the Post 11 area.

  • Detective Logan Gay was named the Post 11 Detective of the Year. He is an 8-year veteran of the agency.
  • Trooper Benjamin Allen was named the Post 11 Trooper of the Year. He is a 4-year veteran of the agency.
  • Trooper Samuel Peace was issued the KSP Citation for Bravery. He is a 9-year veteran of the agency.

Captain James Ryan Catron said he is very proud of these three Troopers who go above and beyond the call of duty every day. He said they all exemplify the values of a Trooper and help keep our Commonwealth safe. A complete list of award recipients can be found on the KSP website.
