Kentucky State Police say a man has been arrested in connection to an attempted child abduction at Whitley County Intermediate School. Police say 37-year-old Willie Betha, of South Carolina, made his way onto the playground and attempted to convince a child to go with him. A school staffer confronted Betha and he left the school grounds. Betha was later located and arrested at Corbin Walmart. He was charged with (attempted) kidnapping of a minor, criminal trespass, persistent felony offender and operating on a suspended license. Trooper Matt Ridener is continuing the investigation.
