Laurel County Sheriff John Root says Deputy Zach Allen and Deputy Noah Ritchie were dispatched to a crash on McWhorter Road. Police arrived to find the driver, 44-year-old Nicholas Cole, of Corbin, was under the influence. During the investigation Cole was also found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine. Cole was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence and drug and paraphernalia possession. He was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
