The Eastern US is seeing an invasion of a new giant spider that can parachute to the ground. The yellow and black Joro (YO’row) spiders were discovered in the Southeast about a decade ago and are expected to be all over the East coast by this summer. It can stretch out to near the size of your hand, and spins giant strong webs three or four feet wide. While that might creep you out, at least they eat stinkbugs and Japanese beetles. Also, they’re not venomous, so they won’t kill you…unless it’s from a heart attack.
