The Corbin Police Department says officers responded to a report of a vehicle in a ditch. During the investigation, the driver, 49-year-old Michael Merrick, of Knoxville, was determined to be under the influence of alcohol. Police said they later discovered Merrick is wanted as a suspect in a Knoxville murder case. Merrick was lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center.
