Officials have released the identity of the firefighter hurt in a blaze Monday in Laurel County. The firefighter was identified as Captain Eric Philpot with the Corbin Fire Department. The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office has been looking for a missing person who was believed to be inside the commercial building. Officials have since found the person. The fire destroyed the abandoned garage-type building just off Interstate 75 and exit 29, behind the Go Time service station. The area has recently undergone re-development. The investigation is continuing.
