The London Police Department says Sgt. Wade Mitchell pulled out behind a vehicle on Whitley Street. When the driver, later identified as 21-year-old Braedon Carey, of Annville, noticed the police cruiser behind him, he turned off his lights and sped up. Sgt. Mitchell gave chase but due to excessive speeds, lost sight of the vehicle. Later, Cpl. Ben Webb, who was in the area to assist, spotted the vehicle unoccupied. Officers searched the area and found Carey and took him into custody. Carey was charged with fleeing or evading police, speeding, reckless driving and others. He was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
