Knox County Sheriff Mike Smith announced a drug detecting canine named Pita is now a part of their team. Smith said Pita is a one-year-old shepherd that is trained and certified. Along with Pita’s handler, Deputy Sgt. Jesse Smith, they will conduct drug related searches in buildings, vehicles and other objects. Welcome to the force, Pita.
