London Police Chief Chuck Johnson and Laurel County Sheriff John Root says a Keavy man is facing several charges after reportedly kidnapping someone and leading officers on a chase. After receiving a report from London-Laurel 911 of a possible kidnapping in progress, police from both departments were able to track down 30-year-old Dustin Bewley. When police tried to pull him over, Bewley fled. As Bewley attempted to go through the grass at the roundabout at KY-1006 and KY-363, he struck a utility pole guide wire causing his vehicle to overturn. Police said Bewley appeared manifestly under the influence. Bewley was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center. The victim was checked on and taken to St. Joseph London Hospital for possible minor injures resulting from an earlier incident. The investigation is ongoing.
