Laurel County Sheriff John Root says Deputy Austyn Weddle and Deputy Byron Grimes were called out to a motel off KY 770 approximately 11 miles South of London where a reported out-of-control man had been drinking. Deputies arrived to find 45-year-old Richard Logsdon of Bowling Green, who cursed and threatened Deputy Weddle. Deputies learned that Logsdon had allegedly hit his mother multiple times. A bystander had reportedly pushed Logsdon down as he was attacking his mother, causing a cut above Logsdon’s eye. Deputies had EMS respond to the scene to treat him. Deputies say afterward, as he was being arrested, Logsdon struggled and kicked them multiple times. Deputies transported Logsdon to a local hospital for stitches and while there, the suspect cursed nurses. Deputies say Logsdon threatened to kill them when he got out of jail. Logsdon was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, assault – domestic violence, assault on a police officer, terroristic threatening, alcohol intoxication and menacing. He was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
