UPDATE: Two People Charged with Murder after Crash that Killed Two-Year-Old Child

UPDATE: Kentucky State Police say two people are facing charges following a crash on Interstate 75 that led to the death of a minor. Troopers say 33-year-old Matthew Croley, of Williamsburg, or 22-year-old Jayna Ann Vorwerk, of Arizona, were in a 2017 Ford Edge heading south around the 17 mile marker in Whitley County when they hit 25-year-old Alexis Brianna Flores, of Flat Lick, who was driving a 1996 GEO Tracker. State police say it’s not yet clear who was actually driving the Edge. A child passenger in Flores’ vehicle was ejected during the crash. According to the coroner, the child, who was about two years old, was pronounced dead at the scene. Flores was trapped inside the Tracker but was extricated and flown out to the University of Tennessee Hospital with severe injuries. Three other minor passengers in the GEO Tracker were taken to Baptist Health Hospital in Corbin with non-life-threatening injuries. Another passenger in the rear seat in the Edge was not injured. Both Croley and Vorwerk were charged with murder, assault, wanton endangerment and operating motor vehicle under the influence.
