During their weekly update on Kool Gold’s London News Now, the Laurel County Health Department reported COVID and flu numbers continue to rise. Public Services Supervisor, Tyler Caldwell, said from November 20th to November 22nd there were 80 new cases and 3 new hospitalizations. Caldwell says flu cases also continue to rise. He said the most frequently reported flu type continues to be influenza A which is targeted by the current vaccine. Caldwell said as we get into flu and respiratory illness season, it’s important to practice preventive measures like washing your hands, covering your coughs and sneezes, staying home when you’re sick and staying up to date on vaccinations.
