5th District Lincoln Club Banquet brings Republicans Together

Hundreds of Republicans gathered at the Corbin Center over the weekend for the fifth District Lincoln Club banquet. They honored the service of former Republican National Committee Chair Mike Duncan, awarding him the Lifetime Achievement Award. U.S. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said he met Duncan in 1971 during an election. He said he tried to influence Duncan into running for office, but chose not to do that and make his contribution in other ways. US Representative Hal Rogers said some ways he has made his contribution was through the Center for Rural Development and Operation Unite. Also during the banquet, Corbin Mayor Suzie Razmus was the recipient of the Nancy Mitchell Women in Leadership Award. Mitchell was the first woman to serve as a commissioner for the city of Corbin. Razmus said her impact on the community has been inspiring for her. She said that all of the women that attended the banquet stood out.
