Although we have seen warmer temperatures this winter, some folks are still struggling to keep their house warm. Recently we have reported on higher electricity bills and officials with the Low Income Housing Energy Assistance Program, or LIHEAP, said they now have extra funding. Officials say with higher electricity bills this year, they have seen more people come through thier doors. If you are interested in signing up for LIHEAP, you will need to bring proof of income from the previous month, a metered utility bill, and a social security card for everybody in the house. For more information on LIHEAP, visit https://www.acf.hhs.gov/ocs/resource/liheap-brochures or call (855) 306-8959.
