Domestic dispute on Swiss Colony

Sheriff John Root is reporting that Laurel Sheriff’s Deputy Shawn Boroviak responded to a domestic dispute On Swiss Colony Lane , 5 miles west of London on Monday night (4-30-2012) at 7:45 P.M. Upon arrival, Deputy Boroviak learned that a dispute had occurred there involving three persons-(a male subject , and 2 female subjects). The male subject broke out a front window glass to the residence causing injuries to one of the females;he also allegedly twisted the foot on the other female. The females asked him to leave, and he refused, and punched a storm door window, breaking it. He then left the scene on foot. Deputy Greg Turner and Deputy Steve Hoskins located the male subject and arrested him 5 miles west of London on Monday night (4-30-2012) at approx 8:28 P.M. , walking out White Oak Road. While being arrested , he threatened the deputies. Arrested was: Michael W. Robinson age 41 of High Moore Road, London charged with: Assault 4th Degree, Criminal Trespass 1st degree, Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree regarding the domestic complaint on Swiss Colony Lane, and also charged with Alcohol Intoxication in A Public Place, and Terroristic Threatening regarding the arrest on White Oak Road. Robinson was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Facility.

Domestic dispute on Robinson Creek

Sheriff John Root is reporting that Laurel Sheriff’s Sgt Chuck Johnson was dispatched to a domestic dispute on Robinson Creek Road, Lily on Tuesday morning (5-1-2012) at 12:46 A.M. Upon arrival and investigation, Sgt Johnson determined the female victim had been assaulted---she had two black eyes and a busted lip. A male subject there was arrested and is identified as: James K. Brock age 52 of Robinson Creek Road, Lily charged with Assault 4th Degree(Domestic Violence). Discovered in the residence through investigation was a quantity of marijuana in baggies. Brock was also charged with Trafficking Of Marijuana, less than

8 ounces,1st offense Brock was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Facility.

Death Investigation in Laurel County

Sheriff John Root is reporting that Laurel Sheriff’s Detective Charlie Loomis is conducting a death investigation regarding a male subject found dead by his room mate in the living room of their home on Laurel Road , 5 miles east of London on Sunday afternoon 4-29-2012 at approx. 1:24 P.M.

The victim is identified as: Kenneth E. Vincent age 36 of Laurel Road London. Allegedly, the victim and his room mate(Freddy Couch age 56 Laurel Road, London(-same address as victim) got into an altercation following an argument in their home shortly after midnight. Allegedly Vincent used a knife during the altercation, and Couch scuffled with him, and was able to overpower him. Alcohol was involved. No police or medical help was sought by either man following the fight.

Both subjects allegedly went to sleep-Couch in the bedroom, and Vincent in the floor in the living room area of the house, when Couch awakened to find Vincent dead where he had went to sleep.

The Laurel County Coroner’s office pronounced Kenneth Vincent dead at the scene. Assisting on the investigation was: Sheriff John Root, Chief Deputy Eddy Sizemore, Sgt Greg Poynter, and Detective Sgt Tommy Johnston. Autopsy will be performed on the victim to determine cause of death. The investigation is continuing by Detective Charlie Loomis. Following the investigation, the case will be presented to the next term of the Laurel County Grand Juy.

Death investigation in Clay County

(LONDON, KY.) – On Friday April 27, 2012, at 10:20 PM the Kentucky State Police, Post 11 London, received a request from the Clay County 911 Center for assistance in an investigation into the injury of a Manchester City worker.

 

Trooper Jack Riley responded and determined that the Manchester Public Water Works was attempting to repair a water main leak when the earth embankment around the hole collapsed trapping a worker.

 

The worker, Victor Gilbert, 51, of Manchester, was freed by the use of a backhoe and transported to the Manchester Memorial Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

 

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) have been notified in reference to the incident.

 

The investigation is continuing by Trooper Riley and he was assisted by officers from the Kentucky State Police, the Manchester City Police Department, the Manchester Fire Department and the Clay County EMS.

13 year old injured

Sheriff John Root is reporting that Laurel Sheriff’s Sgt Greg Poynter is investigating an incident on U.S. 25 , approx. 4 miles south of London on Saturday afternoon (4-28-2012) at approx. 4:15P.M. which occurred near James Isom’s residence. Apparently, a 13 year old boy , and other children were playing on a homemade zip line that had been rigged up so the kids could grab onto the line and slide down it to the ground. The 13 year old boy apparently got the line tangled around his neck and was severely injured before he was pulled free of the line. He was transported by Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County to a waiting helicopter at London airport, and airlifted by PHI to UK med Center , in Lexington in critical condition. Assisting at the scene was: Deputy Greg Turner, and Deputy Steve Hoskins, and reserve deputy David Brown. The incident remains under investigation.

Shooting complaint on St. Johns rd.

Sheriff John Root is reporting that Laurel Sheriff’s Deputy Robbie Grimes was dispatched to a shooting complaint on St. John’s Road, 7 miles north of London on Saturday afternoon(4-28-2012) at 2:40 P.M. Upon arrival at the scene, Deputy Grimes learned from the victim, Renee Asher---that she had been driving on St. John’s Road enroute to her uncles’ home when she heard gunshots, and felt something hit her car.—The victim stopped her car, and discovered Her car had been struck by a bullet in the lower section of the passenger door. The victim confronted the shooter about her car, and then called police. When deputies arrived at the scene, and following an investigation, deputies arrested: John W. Scrivner age 40 of St. Johns Road, East Bernstadt charging him with Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree, Criminal Mischief 1st Degree, and Alcohol Intoxication in A Public Place. He was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Facility.

The accused stated he was shooting his rifle into a bank across the road, when the victim’s car came out of nowhere. An AR-15 rifle was recovered by deputies from the back of Scrivner’s truck. Deputies assisting on the case were: Sgt Greg Poynter, Deputy Greg Turner, and Deputy Steve Hoskins.

Thieves arrested on Rough Creek

Sheriff John Root is reporting that Laurel Sheriff’s Deputy Josh Scott was dispatched to the scene of a burglary of a home on Rough Creek Road, 5 miles east of London, on Saturday morning (4-21-2012) at approx. 9:57 A.M. Upon arrival, deputies learned that 3 subjects had broken into a home by forcing a side room window, and entered the residence and had began stacking items they were going to steal next to the window where they gained entry. While doing this, the home owner came home and discovered a vehicle in their driveway, and the home owner began honking the horn of their car. The thieves ran out of the home, and fled in their green car. The suspects crashed their car less than a mile from the scene of the breakin. Deputies arrested the three occupants of the car: They are identified as:

George Couch Jr age 31 of East Laurel Road, London, Amanda P. Vires, age 25 of Keavy Road, London, and Anita D. Messer age 31 of Memorial Drive, Manchester all charged with Burglary 2nd Degree, and lodged in the Laurel County Detention Facility.

Deputies assisting on the investigation were: Sgt Greg Poynter, and Deputy Steve Hoskins.

Public intoxication arrest at Northside Plaza

Sheriff John Root is reporting that Laurel Sheriff’s Sgt Greg Poynter received a complaint that a driver, and passenger were passed out in their silver chev. Impala at Northside Plaza , 13 miles south of London on Friday afternoon(4-27-2012) ar approx 4 P.M. Upon arrival, the female driver exited the vehicle, and an investigation determined she was under the influence. (She stated she had been taking xanx, and hydrocodone . Arrested was: Paula J. Jackson age 40 of Sturdiant Morgan Road, Corbin charged with DUI. Also arrested was a male passenger passed out in the passenger seat identified as: Carl D. Licklitter age 38 of Young Street, Woodbine charged with : Public Intoxication. It was determined he had been taking pain medicine and xanx. Both subjects were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Facility. Deputy Robbie Grimes assisted at the scene.

Public intoxication arrest on Springcut Circle

Sheriff John Root is reporting that Laurel Sheriff’s Deputy Steve Hoskins responded to a complaint on Springcut Circle, 7 miles south of London on Friday evening (4-27-2012) at 5:30 P.M. Upon arrival, Deputy Hoskins located a female subject standing in the roadway under the influence, and arrested her. She is identified as: Allyson Martin age 28 of South Main Street , London charged with : Public Intoxication controlled substances. She stated she had been smoking methamphetamine. She was lodged in the Laurel County detention Facility.

Two arrested for criminal tresspass

Sheriff John Root is reporting that Laure Sheriff’s Sgt Greg Poynter and Deputy Robbie Grimes executed two Laurel County Arrest warrants on Friday afternoon (4-27-2012) at 4:18 P.M. on wagers Road, 7 miles south of London. Arrested as:Lonnie Brooks age 46 of Wagers Road London charged on an arrest warrant with: Terroristic Threatening, and Criminal Trespass 3rd Degree. Also arrested was : Ottis Johnson age 41 of Wagers Road, London charged on an arrest warrant with: Criminal Trespass 3rd degree, and Criminal Mischief 2nd degree. Both men were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Facility.
