Intoxicated Man Arrested After Fleeing Hospital While Being Treated Following Alleged Assault

Laurel County Sheriff John Root says deputies were called out to check on a man who apparently fled St. Joseph Hospital while being treated there following an alleged assault. While there the man, 24 year old Bradley Austin Morris, reportedly ripped off his neck brace, pulled out his IV and created a disturbance. Officers found Morris hiding behind a church off Parker Road nearby. He tried to run from police, but was caught. Morris admitted to deputies he had been drinking and had taken Suboxone earlier. He was taken back to the hospital where he was treated and released back to police. Morris was charged with public intoxication – controlled substances, disorderly conduct and fleeing or evading police. He was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
