Prosecutors Seeking The Death Penalty Against Williamsburg Woman Accused Of Killing Her Family

Prosecutors have formally moved to seek the death penalty against a Williamsburg woman, who is accused of killing her husband and her two teenager daughters while they slept in January. Commonwealth's Attorney Allen Trimble filed an official notice of his intent to seek the death penalty against 41 year old Courtney Taylor, who is charged with three counts of capital murder in the shooting deaths of 56 year old Larry Taylor, 18 year old Jesse Taylor and 13 year old Jolee Taylor. The notice moves to seek the death penalty and any other penalty provided by law against Courtney Taylor. Those other penalties would include a possible sentence of life without the possibility of parole or life without the possibility of parole for 25 years if she is convicted and jurors opt not to give her the death penalty. Taylor is due back in court on June 5 for a pre-trial conference before special Judge Jeffrey Burdette. She is being held in lieu of a $1 million bond.
