Laurel County Police Say A Shoplifting Complaint Results In Drug Roundup Arrest

The Laurel County Sheriff's Office says a shoplifting complaint resulted in a drug roundup arrest. Deputies arrested 35 year old Michael Bowling of London at the Family Dollar Store off Highway 30. When deputies responded to a shoplifting complaint at the store, they were told Bowling allegedly shoplifted deodorant then came back and returned the deodorant from his pocket to the shelf. Deputies say they found Bowling had a needle and after further investigation learned he was wanted on a Laurel County warrant charging him with drug trafficking. The sheriff’s office had been looking for Bowling since January 6. He was one of 35 people being sought on drug trafficking charges as part of a drug roundup. So far, 28 of those people have been arrested. Bowling faces several charges, including drug trafficking, possession of drug paraphernalia and shoplifting, among others. He was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
